*Email forwarding is an outdated mechanism that will cause email to fail SPF and DMARC checks. This option has been left as an option in Mailborder, but it is highly recommended that it not be used except under rare circumstances where it will not cause a problem.
What Forwarding Does #
Email forwards are used to send an email destined to an original recipient on to an alternate recipient. For example, us**@do****.com can be sent to us**@ex*****.com.
Be aware that email forwards will fail SPF checks as your Mailborder server is usually not authorized to send email for the original sender domain.
Example:
bo*@gm***.com sends an email to us**@ex*****.com. You forward us**@ex*****.com to mi**@ex*****.com. Mailborder is now sending an email to mi**@ex*****.com on behalf of gmail.com, which it is not an authorized sending server of the domain gmail.com.
